The Tewin project is a proposed development by Taggart near the town of Carlsbad Springs. Taggart has made it through some of the preliminary approval stages despite staff's firm recommendation not to proceed with this site using tactics like:
- Lobbying councillors / supporting election campaigns
- Greenwashing
- Claiming this constitutes "reconciliation"
We know that proceeding with the Tewin development will:
- Cost taxpayers around $40 million per year
- Destroy local environment and put endangered species at risk
- Exacerbate urban sprawl and car dependency
- Bring in billions in profit for Taggart
