Donate to fund our 2026 Election Advertising

Our official 2026 Election Advertising campaign has launched!

As we did in 2022, we are creating public messages and advertising that calls on residents to unseat the incumbents that we feel are holding the City back from adopting progressive solutions.

Horizon’s focus this election is to make sure that residents are aware of how their councillors have been voting and acting in council this past term. Councillors like Tim Tierney, Matt Luloff and Allan Hubley have repeatedly voted for things like police budget increases and transit cuts. Their election campaigns have largely been backed by donations from developer interests in the city.

Help us reach our initial goal of raising $5,500 to support printing and advertising costs in August!

Thanks again for your support. Let's change this city, together.

*Please review the Municipal Election Act requirements & limitations on contributions to Third Party Advertisers below:

  • Total contributions from any one donor to any registered campaign may not be more than $1,200.
  • The maximum total amount that a contributor can give to all third party advertisers registered in the same municipality is $5,000.
  • All contributions will be issued a receipt.
  • Anyone who contributes more than $100 (in total) must provide their address. The information will appear on Horizon’s financial statement, a public record submitted to the municipality.
  • Donors must be Ontario residents, registered Ontario corporations or Ontario trade union.
  • Donations must be received between registration date and close of election day.
  • A contribution must come directly from the contributor – pooling contributions from others and giving them to a third party advertiser is not allowed. If a contribution is made from a joint account, it must be clear which person is making the contribution.

Any donations received that do not meet the above conditions will be refunded or surrendered to the City Clerk.
